This policy explains what ESL Compass collects, why we use it, and what choices are available when you browse listings, create an account, or start an external application.
Information we collect
Account information may include your name, email address, account type, and profile details. Employers also provide organization and job-post information. When a teacher starts an external application, we record the job post, selected positions, consent, and time of the action.
How we use information
We use this information to operate accounts, publish and review job listings, save teacher preferences, show employers which positions a teacher selected, prevent abuse, provide support, and maintain the security of the service.
Information shared with employers
Before continuing to an external application, teachers are asked to consent to sharing their contact details and selected positions with that job post’s employer. Signed-in teachers share their account name and email plus an optional profile phone number. Guests provide a name and email; a phone number is optional.
External services and application destinations
ESL Compass relies on service providers for hosting, authentication, email delivery, database operations, and abuse prevention. Employer application websites and email services have their own privacy practices. Review those practices before sending additional personal information outside ESL Compass.
Security and abuse prevention
We use access controls and Cloudflare Turnstile to protect authentication forms and distinguish legitimate users from automated abuse. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so users should choose a unique password and keep their sign-in details private.
Retention and your choices
We retain information while it is needed to provide and protect the service or meet operational and legal requirements. Signed-in non-administrator users can permanently delete their account and account-linked data from Account settings after confirming their password. You may also contact us to request access, correction, or deletion.
